The Laboratory of Collective Action and Social Movements (LaCASMo) of the Department of Sociology is hosting its inaugural event for the new academic year, titled "Against Vastria: The Next Phase of Dehumanization." The event will focus on the local community's opposition to refugee camps and will take place on Saturday, October 19, at 16:30 in the Ceremony Hall of the Central High Schools of Mytilene.
Speakers will include:
- Open Assembly of Lesvos Against Border Violence
- Nikos Xypolytas – Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology
- Dionysis Pavlou – Refugee Education Coordinator, KED Lesvos
The event will offer simultaneous English translation, and a discussion with the audience will follow.
