Greece's Moria refugee camp faces closure over 'uncontrollable amounts of waste'

Greece's biggest refugee camp faces closure next month unless authorities clean up an "uncontrollable amount of waste" at the site, according to local officials.

Public health inspectors on the island of Lesbos have declared the Moria detention centre is "dangerous for public health and the environment".

A notice, issued by regional governor Chrisinana Kalogirou to the government's minister for migration and the camp director, sets out a 30-day deadline for improvements. Read more>>>
