Shortly before the signing of the EU-Turkey deal, Salam Aldeen, founder of TeamHumanity, was arrested during a rescue action off the coast of Lesbos. He and four other helpers were accused of people smuggling. His boat was impounded and Salam was released on a bail of 10,000 Euros. He and the other helpers are threatened with up to 10 years in prison.
