STOLEN HOPE: The despair of refugees in Greece

Note by Samos Volunteers on Facebook:

Imagine this: you have left war, conflict and persecution behind you in the pursuit for safety in Europe. Once in Europe, you lose all power over your life and future, and even the right to reunite with your family is taken away from you.

This is daily reality for over 50,000 refugees who are stuck in Greece. Political and economic obstacles make it increasingly difficult to help these people, and a general political unwillingness makes it impossible to give people back the dignity they deserve. This video made by Médecins Sans Frontières while on Samos, very accurately shows the despair that people live in once they reach Europe, the hopelessness and the endlessness of the situation, and the dehumanising effects of a truly broken system.
